Athletes are categorized based on their SLR (Skill Level Rating) on a scale of 1 to 5 - Check with your coach to register your athlete with the correct SLR or Skill Level Rating

SLR- 1 = Skill Level Rating 1: This is an athlete new to Muay Thai, and may or may not be sparring in their gym, but not developed to a 'competition' level yet. This athlete is not eligible to compete in the TBA-SA Scrimmage.

SLR-2 = Skill Level Rating 2:  This athlete has a basic comprehension of offense and defense, can put together combinations and defend against various attacks. However, their confidence level is lower and if overwhelmed, tend to be more timid and shell up or turn away.  This athlete should not be matched with a SLR - 3 Athlete.

SLR-3 = Skill Level Rating 3:  This athlete has a basic comprehension of offense and defense, can put together combinations and defend against various attacks. However, this athlete does not understand how to "go light".  They sometimes cannot control their power, even when instructed to do so. This athlete should not be matched with a SLR - 2 Athlete

SLR - 4 = Skill Level Rating 4: This athlete has a greater understanding of both offense and defense, than that of  a SLR - 2 and SLR - 3.  They regularly spar in their gyms and may have competed some already.  They are better than a SLR 3 at controlling their power and they can defend & counter attack to a greater degree as well. 

SLR - 5 = Skill Level Rating 5:   This athlete is much more experienced, with a higher level of confidence and is well balanced in all facets of Muay Thai. They can go lighter with a SLR - 2 and let them work to develop. As well, they can contain/diffuse the uncontrolled power of a SLR - 3. This athlete can be matched against all SLR levels
