EQUIPMENT

ALL athletes are encouraged to wear their own equipment, including gloves, shins headgear & chest protector.  We will have limited availability for athletes to use Gloves & Chest gear provided at the event (if the athlete's gloves aren't the correct weight, or chest gear that is not TBA-SA approved.)   Limited gear MAY be available for sale at the event.

ALL Athletes are required to have the following:

1) Mouthpiece

2) Cup (males)

3) Boxing Gloves (see weight requirements below)

4) Shin Guards (can use cloth or leather)

5) Muay Thai Chest Protector

4) Headgear (preferably open face)

5) Muay Thai Shorts

6) Hand wraps

Gear Provided by promoter (Limited availability- athletes are encouraged to use their own gear)

1)  Gloves 

NHS Athletes up to 127# - 8oz gloves

NHS Athletes above 127# up to 179# - 10oz gloves

NHS Athletes above 179# - 12oz

LHS Teens - 12 oz gloves

LHS Adults - 16 oz gloves

2)   Muay Thai Sparring Vests.  These vests are unlike TKD or other martial arts vests that are very stiff.  These are thinner and more "pliable" which allows more movement within the clinch.  Wearing the vests helps promote better/higher scoring techniques at a closer range such as body kicks and knees to the body.  It also helps encourage more engagement within the clinch and helps keep athletes working "in the pocket".
